ORLANDO, Fla. — No. 8 Florida Southern College men's tennis (13-4) defeated Emporia State University (6-6) 6-1 on Friday at the USTA Campus. The Moccasins swept all three doubles matches and secured victory with wins in five of the six singles matches.

Florida Southern secured the doubles point decisively with victories across all courts. The No. 3 doubles team of Mario Garoz and Edoardo Melindo took an early advantage with a 6-1 win over Diego Calvo and Duv Santiago Torres. The No. 1 doubles tandem of #19 George Russell and Onur Turgut followed up with a 6-2 victory against Anton Sarunic and Luke West. The doubles point was clinched at No. 2 doubles, where Bosko Boskovic and Gabriel Jornert completed a 7-6(7-4) triumph over Dhruveer Grover and Roko Kacer.

In singles play, the Moccasins continued their strong performance. #49 Mario Antonio Morales opened with a commanding 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 5 singles against Duv Santiago Torres. Marco Cinotti added another point for FSC at No. 4 singles, defeating Gwendal Mazuay 6-4, 6-2. At No. 6 singles, Youssef ElShafei secured a 7-5, 6-3 victory over Roko Kacer, further extending the lead.

Turgut contributed a gritty 6-0, 4-6, 6-3 win at No. 3 singles against Luke West, while #8 Garoz clinched the final point for Florida Southern at No. 1 singles, battling to a 4-6, 6-0, 6-4 win over Mostafa Elbasnaly. The Hornets managed to capture a point at No. 2 singles, where Diego Calvo edged Matthew Hewitt 3-6, 6-2, 7-5, marking their sole victory in the singles lineup.
