WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — No. 10 Florida Southern College men's tennis (14-4, 2-2 SSC) dominated Palm Beach Atlantic University (0-14, 0-5 SSC) 7-0 on Saturday at the Mitch Gornto Tennis Center. The Moccasins secured the doubles point with victories at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions and swept all six singles matches.
Florida Southern secured the doubles point against PBA with victories on courts No. 2 and No. 3.
Bosko Boskovic and
Gabriel Jornert claimed a 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles, while
Mario Garoz and
Edoardo Melindo won by default at No. 3 doubles. The Sailfish managed a win at No. 1 doubles, with Peter Dragar and Milan Visontai edging
George Russell and
Onur Turgut, 7-6(4).
In singles play, the Mocs swept all six matches to seal a decisive victory.
Mario Antonio Morales commenced the singles sweep with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Saidakbar Kamalov at No. 5 singles.
Marco Cinotti followed with a 6-4, 6-0 victory against Peter Dragar at No. 4 singles.
Matthew Hewitt clinched the dual match for FSC at No. 2 singles, defeating Alejandro Rol 6-4, 6-2.
Continuing their dominance, Turgut bested Lucas Hoyos 6-3, 6-4 at No. 3 singles, while Garoz secured a 7-5, 6-3 win over Milan Visontai on court No. 1. The final match concluded with
Youssef ElShafei's 7-5, 6-1 victory against Marko Visontai at No. 6 singles, finalizing the dual score at 7-0 in favor of the Moccasins.
