FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. - With rounds of 278 and 276, the No. 4 Florida Southern men's golf sits in second to open the Shark Invitational at the Grande Oaks Golf Club in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Colton Swartz leads the Mocs and is tied for first overall with rounds of 66 and 67. He posted a bogey-free opening round with five birdies, before following up with three birdies and an eagle in round two. He birdied two straight holes to close round one and opened the second round with a birdie for three straight.
Max Barile sits tied-7th after the opening day, with rounds of 70 and 68. He is four under, with 11 birdies on the day.
Chris Pollak shot a career-low 70 in the opening round before shooting even in round two to finish the day tied-20th. He carded five birdies on the day.
Anthony Monteleone finished the day even, sitting tied-26th. He carded three straight birdies in the second round on holes 15 through 17, with five in the round and seven on the day.
Donte Groppuso and Tyler Mistretta, competing as an individual, both finished tied-48th with a four-over score of 146.
The host team Nova Southeastern sits in the team lead through two rounds, with a 29-under score of 539. Nova Southeastern's Rodrigo Huerta and Florida Southern's Swartz are tied for the individual lead, each with a two-round score of 133 (-9).
