PENSACOLA, Fla. - With the second round of play suspended due to darkness, the No. 4 Florida Southern men's golf team sits in fourth, after almost completing two full rounds of play.
Max Barile leads the way for the Moccasins, sitting tied-fourth with one hole left to play in round two. Barile opened the tournament with a four-under 68, carding four birdies in the round. So far in round two, Barile sits at 67 strokes and is -2 in the round, with a par-3 left on hole 18 to complete the round. He is currently 6-under.
Colton Swartz sits tied-11th at 4-under with three holes left to play in round two. The junior shot an opening round of 67 with eight birdies in the round. So far in round two, Swartz has carded two birdies, three bogeys, and 10 pars, still to face holes 16-18, with two par-4s and a par-3.
Tyler Mistretta is one stroke off Swartz, sitting tied-13th with two holes left to play in round two. Mistretta shot a career-low 67 in the opening round today, firing off six birdies. In round two, he has carded two more birdies and sits at 66 strokes with two par-4s left to play on holes two and three.
Anthony Monteleone sits tied-64th with one hole left to play in round two. The freshman shot a 76 in the opening round with four birdies. Monteleone will start tomorrow, closing out the second round on hole one. Monteleone stands at eight-over.
Chris Pollak and Jaylen Abbas both are tied-83rd, each with two holes left to play. Pollak, who rounds out the Moccasin lineup, opened with a 79 in round one. He carded two birdies in the round and three on the day, sitting 13-over with two par-4s still left to play (holes one and two). Abbas, who is competing as an individual, opened with a round of 81. He has posted three birdies so far in round two, and will close out round two with par-4s on holes 16 and 17 tomorrow morning.
West Florida currently holds both the team and individual lead, with the team sitting at 19-under, and Cooper Tendick sitting at 8-under with two holes still to play in round two.
