FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Florida Southern College softball (11-29, 5-19 SSC) fell 2–0 to Nova Southeastern University (25-22, 10-14 SSC) on Thursday night at the NSU Softball Complex to open the Sunshine State Conference series. The game saw the Moccasins limited to two hits, while the Sharks capitalized with two solo home runs to secure the victory.
Florida Southern faced Nova Southeastern in a competitive matchup. The second inning saw the Sharks take an early lead with Destiny Lewis homering to left field for the first run. The score was 1–0 in favor of Nova Southeastern after two innings.
In the fourth inning, Lewis once again made an impact, hitting another home run to left field, increasing the Sharks' lead. The score stood at 2–0 after four innings.
