BOULDER CITY, Nev. - The No. 3 Florida Southern men's golf team moved up to first place after 36 holes of stroke play at the 2026 Division II Men's Golf National Championship. The Mocs finished with a two-round score of 558 (-18) at the Boulder Creek Golf Club. 

Anthony Monteleone pushed the Mocs forward with another under-par round. The freshman shot a 4-under 66 with five birdies and two eagles. He currently sits in 4th and is three strokes off the individual lead. 

Tyler Mistretta and Max Barile finished the day tied-15th. Both are 3-under after the two days, with Mistretta shooting a 1-under 71 today, and Barile shooting an even 72. Mistretta carded four birdies, while Barile carded five. 

Donte Groppuso and Colton Swartz round out the Moccasin lineup, both tied-26th at 2-under. Swartz shot a 3-under 69 today, while Groppuso shot a 2-under 70. Swartz only carded one bogey, with four birdies in the round. Groppuso carded five birdies. 

Florida Southern is in sole possession of the team lead, while Ian Pienaar of Columbus State is in the individual lead at 134 (10-under). 

UP NEXT

Florida Southern will return to Boulder Creek Golf Club tomorrow for the final round of stroke play. The top individual will be crowned a National Champion, while the top eight teams will advance to match play to compete for the team title. Donte Groppuso will be first to tee off at 1:11 PM PT, followed by Colton Swartz at 1:22 PM PT, Tyler Mistretta at 1:33 PM PT, Max Barile at 1:44 PM PT, and Anthony Monteleone at 1:55 PM PT.
