LAKELAND, Fla. – Florida Southern College men's tennis standout Mario Garoz has been recognized as an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division II All-American, with today's final rankings being released.
 
Garoz joins an elite list of FSC All-Americans, most recently with assistant coach Chris Fok Kow in 2024. In total, 11 Florida Southern men's tennis players have been recognized as All-Americans, secured with a top 20 finish in national singles rankings. Garoz finished the 2026 season ranked No. 10 among the nation's best players.
 
"Mario will go down as one of the best players in school history, and this is such a fitting way to end his Moccasin career," said head coach Rhett Rollyson on Garoz's All-American honor. "I'm very proud of how he responded to playing line 1 this year, as well as having an amazing record in doubles. His singles wins record will probably be held for a long time. He will surely be missed."
 
Solidifying himself in the FSC record books, Garoz had 17 singles wins this season, finishing his career with 76 wins. Surpassing the previous record of 67 career singles wins, Garoz also moved into sixth overall in doubles wins for a career, ending with 58 wins. With all but one match appearance at the #1 spot in the lineup, Garoz had five wins over nationally-ranked opponents, including No. 5 Sebastian Rondon in a court win over West Florida.
 
An incredible four years at Florida Southern, Garoz earned seven All-SSC honors across both singles and doubles selections. He was the SSC Freshman of the Year in 2023 and was later named the SSC Player of the Year in 2025. Last year, he set the program record for wins in a single season with 22, while adding academic accomplishments such as SSC Commissioner's Honor Roll, D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award, ITA Scholar-Athlete, and CSC Academic All-American.
 
As a team, the Mocs finished the 2026 season with a 17-7 overall record, with 17 regular-season wins, the most since 2007. FSC went 7-5 against ranked opponents in team dual scores over that period, including a win over the 2025 Division II national champions, Valdosta State University, in one of the best wins in program history. In league play, FSC went 4-3, securing a four-seed in the Sunshine State Conference tournament. The Mocs later received an at-large bid in the NCAA regional tournament, their third straight appearance, with a narrow loss in the first round.
