GREENWOOD, Ind. – The 2025-26 Academic All-America men's track and field/cross country teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, have been released, with Florida Southern College's Chris Colavita selected to the Second Team.
 
The senior from Washington Township, N.J., has a perfect 4.00 GPA in Sport Business Management to earn the Academic All-America nod. Colavita is the first FSC men's cross-country or track athlete to earn the accolade since 2013, when Chris Yanichko was named Academic All-American, and just the fourth all-time Moccasin in program history to be selected.
 
Colavita was selected for the CSC Academic All-District team last month for the second time in his career, later earning his first Academic All-America selection. He is a four-time USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete, a two-time D2ADA Academic Achievement Award winner, a four-time Sunshine State Conference Commissioner's Fall Honor Roll member, a two-time SSC Commissioner's Spring Honor Roll awardee, and has received the FSC cross country and track Academic Award for the past two seasons.
 
On the cross-country course, he is a three-time USTFCCCA All-South Region honoree, three-time All-SSC First Team member, and three-time SSC All-Championship Team selection. On the track, he holds the program record for the indoor 3,000m, which he set this past season. During the outdoor season, he tied the school record in the 5,000m and is now the co-record holder along with former Moccasin great Mason Jones. He earned First Team All-SSC honors in the 10,000m and Second Team in the 5,000m. He went on to earn USTFCCCA All-South Region honors in both events as well.
