LAKELAND, Fla. – Florida Southern College cross country and track head coach Matt Levassiur has announced the addition of Ellie Fluman '24 '25 as an assistant coach in the FSC cross country and track programs.
 
Fluman returns to Florida Southern as one of the program's most decorated runners in recent history. The past two years, Fluman has worked in retail sales at Fleet Feet, a premier shoe outfitting and apparel company. Before joining FSC, Fluman spent the last six months as the assistant retail experience manager at Fleet Feet.
 
"It is really exciting to be back at Florida Southern, now coaching the same team I ran on for five years," said Fluman. "I am excited for this upcoming season. Both the men's and women's teams have a lot of potential, and I am grateful to be part of it."
 
Fluman was a five-year member of the Florida Southern cross country and track programs, named to the All-Sunshine State Conference team four times and a three-time member of the SSC All-Championship Team. She earned USTFCCCA All-South Region three times and was a five-time member of the SSC Commissioner's Honor Roll. Other academic accolades include the D2ADA Academic Achievement Award, USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete Award, and the CSC Academic All-District Award. While completing her bachelor's degree at FSC, Fluman spent time as a nutrition intern with the USF Sports Nutrition Program, working with the USF football team.
 
She earned a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science in 2024 and a Master of Business Administration in 2025, both at Florida Southern.
 
"When Stephanie Bylander [FSC cross country and track coach from 2015-2026] started working with the women's team over a decade ago, the program struggled to be competitive within the conference and the region," said head coach Matt Levassiur on the program's growth. "Through her recruiting and athlete development, she transformed the program, helping student-athletes like Ellie Fluman become some of the most successful competitors in Florida Southern history." Levassiur continued, "Now, bringing Ellie into the coaching fold gives us the opportunity to build on the momentum Stephanie got started. Ellie will be able to share the lessons she learned under Stephanie's mentorship with both our men's and women's teams, while also growing into the college coaching profession herself. I'm incredibly grateful that Ellie is willing to bring her talents back to Florida Southern and help shape the next generation of Moccasins."
