Lakeland, Fla. --- The Florida Southern men's soccer team has made the recent United Soccer Coaches Division II Top 25 poll as the No. 17 team in the country, as announced on Tuesday afternoon (Sep. 8).

FSC receives their first entry into the Top 25 polls since 2018 where they were ranked as high as eighth on October 2nd of that same season. The Mocs are also just one of three teams in the SSC to be included in the poll, going along with Rollins (1) and Lynn (24).

The Mocs started their season with a perfect 4-0 record, including a win over the preseason no. 10 team in Mississippi Christian, 2-1. FSC is just one of three teams in all of Division II with a 4-0 record, the best in the nation (Seattle Pacific and Western Washington).

The squad has only allowed one goal so far across their four matches, coming off the defensive prowess of goalkeeper Ricardo Marques, who has amassed three clean sheets and twelve saves in his first matches as a Moc. Freshman Ollie Stephens has also stood out on the defensive side of the ball, limiting opponents' shot chance and also scoring twice on his own so far this year.

Offensively, four different Mocs have scored with Hector Oliver leading the way with his four. The junior from Spain had his goals come as a part of two braces against Middle Georgia State and Delta State, while also collecting an assist against MCU. Tim Baerlein and Darcy Moffat also have produced massively for the offense as they each have a trio of goals on the year, including a brace. Additionally, six players have racked up an assist this year, including Luciano Schiaffini, who had two in the season opener against Barton.

The now ranked Mocs next play a non-conference match at Saint Leo on Thursday night (Sep. 10) before finishing their four-match road trip at Eckerd next Wednesday evening (Sep. 16) to start SSC play.
