WINTER PARK - Florida Southern and Rollins combined for only six hits Friday night, but the Tars had three solo home runs among their four hits to defeat the Moccasins 3-0.
The Tars (24-2, 3-1) got two home runs from Monica Meadows and one from Chistine Roser. Roser hit her's in the first inning to give the Tars a 1-0 lead before Meadows went deep in the third and fifth innings.
Nicole Anderson (12-1) pitched a complete game shutout for Rollins, allowing just two hits, striking out 10 and walking two. Natalie Lang and Dani Blake had Florida Southern's two hits, coming in the fourth and fifth innings respectively.
Brittany Minton (6-3) took the loss despite allowing only four hits, striking out six and walking one.
Florida Southern fell to 17-6 overall and 2-3 in the Sunshine State Conference. The Moccasins and Tars wrap up their series on Saturday with a doubleheader at 1:00.
