WINTER PARK - Florida Southern swept a doubleheader from 16th-ranked Rollins on Saturday, winning 3-2 and 13-1. The two wins ended a 12-game winning streak for Rollins (24-4, 3-3), as Florida Southern (19-6, 4-2) took two-of-three in the weekend series.
In the first game, the Moccasins broke a 2-2 tie in the top of the sixth inning when Peggy Alex doubled, took third on a wild pitch and scored on a ground ball by Lindsey Powell.
Christine Clark (5-2) earned the win, going the distance and allowing two runs on six hits with two strikeouts and two walks.
In game two, the Moccasins led 5-0 after the second inning and blew it open with six runs in the top of the sixth to win by the run rule. Natalie Lang had three RBI in the game, while Elli Howell and Heather Raulerson each drove in two runs.
Morgan Brown picked up the win to improve to 8-1, allowing only four hits, striking out four and walking four.
Florida Southern hosts Hillsdale (MI) in a doubleheader on Monday at 6:00 p.m.
