With every batter in the starting lineup collecting at least one hit, the sixth-ranked Moccasins rolled to their eighth straight win, 18-8, over Saginaw Valley (Mich.) Monday at Henley Field.
Braxton Chisholm had three hits, including his fourth home run, and drove in five runs. Zach Maggard had four hits and scored four runs. Robbie Shields also scored four runs and had two hits. Colin Kish had three hits and Wade Kirkland scored three runs. Will Cherry hit his ninth home run. The Moccasins pounded out 18 hits off four Saginaw Valley pitchers and also received seven walks and had four hit batsmen.
FSC put five runs on the board in the first inning and scored in every inning but one, improving their record to 17-4. Saginaw Valley is 0-4.
Jake Guengerich, who gave up just one run in four-and-a-third innings in relief, picked up his second win of the season.
The Moccasins open Sunshine State Conference action Friday at Melbourne against Florida Tech. Friday's single game is at 3 p.m., with Saturday's doubleheader at 1 p.m.
