Box Score West Alabama, behind a strong offensive combination of Jordan Kent and Jessica Crook, upended the 11th-ranked Moccasins in three sets, 25-16, 25-20, 25-23, in FSC's second match at the South Region Crossover in Pensacola Friday.
With the win, West Alabama raised its record to 9-3, while the Moccasins slipped to 7-3.
Kent and Crook combined for 21 kills, had just one error between and hit a combined .513 for the match. The Moccasins hit just .083 for the match, their lowest hitting percentage of the season. Lauren Huber was the only Moccasin to reach double figures in kills, as she had 12.
The Moccasins were up 23-20 in the third set, only to have West Alabama score the final five points to clinch the match.
The Moccasins complete their trip to Pensacola Saturday with a 3 p.m. (CT) match against #19 West Florida.
