Box Score Austin Chubb's sacrifice fly in the top of the 10th inning drove in Mike Snyder with the go-ahead run and the Moccasins made the coaching return of Pete Meyer a success with a 3-2 win at Arkansas-Monticello Friday.
Snyder led off the inning with a single and went to third on Jimmy Correnti's single before Chubb produced the game-winning RBI.
The win snapped the Moccasins' five-game losing streak and improved their record to 8-5. UAM dropped to 9-4.
The game was delayed by rain for approximately 90 minutes in the second inning.
UAM had taken a 2-0 lead to the eighth inning, but the Moccasins got RBI-singles from Tony Mitchell and Correnti to pull even at 2-2.
Jake Guengerich worked two scoreless innings in relief to pick up the win. He allowed just one hit and struck out five to improve to 2-0. Gus Schlosser pitched the first seven innings. He allowed two runs on five hits, struck out seven and walked three. Anthony Dovale pitched a scoreless inning before Guengerich came on.
The second game of the scheduled doubleheader was postponed due to bad weather. The two teams are slated to play a doubleheader Saturday at noon (CT).
