The always-tough Sunshine State Conference season begins Wednesday night for the Moccasins when they take on #24 Rollins at 7 p.m. at Jenkins Field House.
Both teams are 5-3. The Moccasins are among the teams receiving votes in this week's AVCA Division II Coaches' Poll.
The Moccasins are coming off a split of their four matches at last weekend's Premier Challenge in Denver, where they faced three nationally-ranked teams. Anne Pietkiewicz leads FSC in kills with 71, with Erin Callahan and Lauren Huber close behind with 68 and 66, respectively. Callahan leads the team in blocks, while Huber has the team's top hitting percentage at .313, which ranks 11th in the SSC.
Rollins dropped three of its four matches at Minnesota-Duluth last weekend. However, the Tars have two of the SSC's top offensive performers in Megan Hodges and Camille Indest. Hodges leads the SSC in kills with 134 and Indest is third in hitting peercentage at .413.
Wednesday night's match has been designated as Family and Friends Night. FSC faculty, staff or students can bring five friends or family members to the match free of charge with a valid FSC ID. Also free pizza will be available to FSC students attending the match with a valid FSC ID.
