Box Score

SAINT LEO, FL - Florida Southern College men's basketball fell victim to a last-second three-pointer in a 68-65 loss at Saint Leo on Wednesday at the Bowman Center.

The Moccasins (8-13, 6-6 SSC) led by four points with 34 seconds to play, but Marcus Dewberry scored seven points in the final 22 seconds of regulation to lift the Lions (11-10, 5-6) to their third-straight Sunsine State Conference win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Florida Southern held a four-point lead (65-61) with 34 seconds to go, but Saint Leo scored four-straight to tie it at 65-65 with seven seconds to play.
• With no timeouts and a chance to take the last shot, Tyler Ross lobbed an inbound pass to Michael Volovic streaking down the sideline, but the pass went too far and Volovic was forced to make a diving save to keep the ball in bounds.
• The ball landed at the feet of Dewberry, who ran the length of the floor and hit a leaner from beyond the arc with 0.6 seconds on the clock. The ensuing inbound pass was tipped in the air, and time expired without a shot for the Mocs.

• The Moccasins carried the momentum over to the second half, reeling off a 16-2 run to start the half and take a 48-39 lead with 14:27 to go.
• Saint Leo would tie the game three times in the final four minutes, but did not regain the lead until Dewberry's last-second heave.
• Florida Southern shot 35.8 percent (24-of-67) on the night while Saint Leo connected on 36.4 percent (24-of-66) of its shots. The Moccasins struggled at the free-throw line, hitting just 8-of-16 attempts at the charity stripe.
