TAMPA, Fla. - Josh Wagner, Alex Guy, Nicholas Carpenter and William Lynch swept the top places in the 1500 meter at the Tampa Track Classic #1 on Friday. In total, 12 personal bests were set during the meet.
Behind Wagner's (4:06.21) first place finish, Guy (2nd - 4:14.90 - PR), Carpenter (3rd - 4:16.54 - PR), Lynch (4th - 4:18.76 - PR) and Brian Martin (6th - 4:24.94 - PR) all marked personal bests in the 1500 meter. Mikey Papa (5:31.09) rounded out the top-10 for the Mocs.
Bryson Yamnitz (4th - 8:42.22 - PR) entered the record book with the fifth fastest time in school history in the 3000 meter run while eight other Mocs marked personal bests in the race.
The 4x400 relay team of Anthony Alvarez, Keith Kelley, Lynch and David Pautienus crossed the line in 3:41.76, good enough to enter the record books with the fourth fastest time in school history.
The Mocs will return next Friday to Tampa for the Tampa Track Classic #2.
