RALEIGH, N.C. – Senior
Anthony Matthew of the Florida Southern College men's track team was the lone Moccasin in action Thursday afternoon as he made the trip to Raleigh, N.C. for the Raleigh Relays hosted by North Carolina State University. The event is known nationwide as one of the premier 1,500m races each collegiate season. Nearly half of the top-10 1,500m NCAA Division I times last season came at the Raleigh Relays.

Matthew competed in the 11
th of 18 heats of the 1,500m where he placed 10
th. The winner of Matthew's heat, Lasse Funck of Missouri, finished 13
th overall. Matthew's time of 3:51.59 earned him 141
st overall as he was sandwiched between runners from Pitt and Wake Forest. The time was the top turned in by a Moccasin so far this season.

Matthew will be back in action Saturday as he competes in the 800m on the final day of the Raleigh Relays. The 800m heats are set to begin at 3:45 PM and will be streamed live on ESPN+. Â
