BRADENTON, Fla. – Florida Southern College alumna Emma Cannon '11 has signed a professional contract to finish the WNBA season with the Las Vegas Aces. The Aces sport a record of 15-4, and are currently in second place, having clinched a playoff berth. Should the Aces win their final three games, they would clinch the top spot in the upcoming WNBA Playoffs.
Cannon played for the Mocs in 2010-11, scoring 487 total points, an average of 26.3 points per game. She added 375 rebounds, the highest single-season total in Mocs history, as Southern advanced into the NCAA Tournament. Cannon was rewarded as an Honorable Mention All-American by the WBCA.
Cannon played the 2017 WNBA season with the Phoenix Mercury, signing as an undrafted free agent. She played in all 34 regular season games that year, averaging 4.4 points and 3.6 rebounds while making 49.1 percent of her shots.
In 2018, Cannon again signed with the Phoenix Mercury prior to training camp, then did the same with the Connecticut Sun in 2019.
Overseas, Cannon most recently played for NKE-Csata in Hungary in 2019-20, where she averaged 15.9 points, and 8.7 rebounds while connecting on 50.7 percent of her field goal attempts.
