LAKELAND, Fla. - The College Sports Communicators (CSC) 2025-26 Academic All-District Women's Basketball Teams have been released to include four from the Florida Southern College women's basketball team.

Sydney Gomes, Lily Pereira, Monica Balistrere, and Gianna Vos, have all been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) 2025-26 Academic All-District Women's Basketball Teams. This honor, awarded for the 2025-26 academic year, highlights the outstanding balance these student-athletes have achieved between their academic pursuits and their commitments on the basketball court.

The Academic All-District recognition is a prestigious accolade that underscores the significant academic achievements of student-athletes who not only excel in their sport but also maintain a strong academic record. To qualify for this award, honorees must be at least sophomores in their academic standing and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher. Additionally, these students are vital contributors to their respective teams, participating in the majority of their contests.

Each of these four honorees from the Florida Southern College women's basketball team has demonstrated remarkable dedication and discipline.

Sydney Gomes, a 5-8 guard from Ponte Vedra, Florida, is pursuing her degree in Sports Business Management while maintaining an outstanding 3.97 GPA. Gomes delivered a historic season, earning All-Region First Team honors and being named the Sunshine State Conference (SSC) Player of the Year. She was also selected to the SSC First Team, SSC All-Defensive Team, and SSC All-Tournament Team.

Gomes etched her name in the record books by setting the FSC single-season assist record with 15 and was recognized five times as SSC Player of the Week in addition to earning SSC Defensive Player of the Week honors. She recorded three triple-doubles during the season and was nationally recognized as one of the NCAA Division II "7 Returning Guards to Watch."
Over the course of her career, Gomes played in 115 games, totaling 1,388 points, 668 rebounds, 388 assists, and 179 steals — cementing her legacy as one of the program's most accomplished all-around players.

Monica Balistrere, a 6-0 forward from Vienna, Virginia, is a graduate student pursuing her Master's in Business Administration while maintaining an impressive 3.86 GPA. A steady and experienced presence for the Mocs, Balistrere appeared in all 31 games this season, earning 29 starts.

She logged 770 minutes of action and shot 40.2 percent from the field, including 31.0 percent from three-point range. On the year, she totaled 108 field goals and knocked down 36 three-pointers, providing consistency and versatility on both ends of the floor.

Junior forward Lily Pereira, a Winston-Salem, North Carolina native, is pursuing a degree in Exercise Science and maintains a perfect 4.00 GPA. A two-time CSC Academic All-District honoree, Pereira exemplifies excellence both on the court and in the classroom.

Starting all 31 games for the Mocs, Pereira logged 828 minutes and averaged 26.7 minutes per contest. She shot 47.3 percent from the field while contributing 8.1 points per game, serving as a steady and reliable presence in the lineup throughout the season.

Gianna Vos, recognized twice while maintaining a flawless 4.00 GPA. A consistent starter in every game this season, Vos averaged 32.2 minutes per contest and totaled 997 minutes of action.
She recorded 89 field goals, knocked down 105 three-pointers, and collected 96 rebounds. Vos' durability, court awareness, and perimeter shooting made her a key contributor all season long.
