DADE CITY, Fla. - The Florida Southern women's golf team finished their final round of play at the Saint Leo Women's Invitational, finishing tied for second place with a combined score of 917 (304, 305, 308) on Tuesday afternoon. The Mocs finished tied for second with Saint Leo behind the first place team University of Tampa.
Florida Southern had a consistent tournament, completing each round just over 300. The Mocs had the second lowest score of all teams on the day, only finishing the round 9 points over the leading University of Tampa.
Senior Loren Perez lead the way for the Mocs, finishing tied for fifth overall in the tournament. Perez shot 10-over par, with a combined score over the three days of 226. Junior, Lacey Tucker placed eighth overall with a combined score of 228. Marissa Cardenas shot her best round of the tournament of 77, for a combined score of 233. Sophomore, Margaux Bonafe rounded out the top five shooting 25-over for a score of 241.
Individually, senior Nathalie Svensson lead the Mocs on the day, shooting her best round of the tournament at 73, with 37 on the front 9, 36 on the back 9. Only 1-over, Svensson tied for second among all players in the third round.
The Mocs are back in action Monday, October 25th in Orlando, Florida to compete in the Rollins Legends Invitational.
