Vero Beach, Fla. – The eighth-ranked Florida Southern College women's golf team began play in the 2021 Sunshine State Conference Women's Golf championship on Monday morning. The Mocs are in third place after the first two rounds with a +44 as a team. With a team score of +27 the University of Tampa and Lynn University are currently tied for first place. The three-round conference tournament is being played at the Bent Pine Golf Club in Vero Beach.
Tied for sixth place individually, Loren Perez lead the way for Florida Southern as she shot a 76 in round one and a 75 in the second round.
Nathalie Svensson is in a tie for 23
rd place as she shot a 77 and an 80 on the first day. In sole place of 25
th is
Hanna Rizzolo, who shot a 79 in both rounds on Monday.
Shelby Lewis and Lacy Tucker both finished the day with a +17 to round out the Mocs scores for day one.
The final round of the Sunshine State Conference championship will see the Mocs tee-off at 8:40 a.m. The two-day tournament is being held at the Bent Pine Golf Club in Vero Beach, Florida on April 12-13. For the final round Southern will be paired up with Rollins.
