LAKELAND, Fla. – The Florida Southern women's golf team sits in fourth place after day one of the 2021 South Regional Preview hosted by Nova Southeastern University at the Grande Oaks Golf club in Davie, Fla. 

Playing in their first tournament in almost a year, Southern shot a combined 598 on the first day between rounds one and two. Facing 11 Division II teams, including five other Sunshine State Conference schools.

Leading the way for Florida Southern is junior Loren Perez with a combined first and second-round score of 146. She shot six-over-par on her first 18 and shot a -2 in round two to sit in a tie for seventh place, individually. Perez moved up 24 spots from round one cutting eight strokes for the second round of 69 her lowest round to date. She is currently five strokes away from the leader. 
 
Nathalie Svensson shot a 74 in round one and followed it up with a 76 in round two placing her in 15th for day one. Elizabeth Harding and Marissa Cardenas finish the first two rounds tied for 23rd as Harding shot an 81 in the first round and cut her score by nine strokes in the second round to move up 23 spots. Closing out the team is Abigail Stetz who finished tied for 41st with a 77 in round one and 79 in round two for a total of 156 on the day. 
 
Individually, Gaby Shortridge finished with a two-round score of 167 shooting an 86 in round one and an 81 in the second round. 

Day Two of the South Regional Preview begins Tuesday, September 14 with the final round teeing off at 8 a.m.
