  • Florida Southern hosts the Tritons after a busy week where the Mocs had three games in a five-day span. Undeterred from the tall task, Florida Southern went undefeated in the stretch to extend their winning streak to four and remained undefeated on the road. Keeper Jenny Staten and the Mocs shut out Saint Leo on Tuesday with a 1-0 victory and six different Mocs scored in the Edward Waters 7-0 victory the next day. In a tough conference matchup in West Palm Beach, the Sailfish tied the game 2-2 with just over four minutes left. Not willing to settle for a tie, Caitlyn Lowery scored her eighth goal of the season and fourth game-winner with two minutes left and Moccasin win.
  • A new career-high for goals in a single season, C. Lowery scored her eighth goal and is now tied for first in the conference for goals scored. Freshman Angelina Coelho has five goals this season, with 10 other Moccasin goal scorers. As a team, Florida Southern has 33 goals, the most scored in a season since 2010, with four games left in the year. An offensive powerhouse of the SSC, the Mocs lead the conference in goals scored and average goals per game (2.750). Florida Southern is also in the top 15 of the nation in several categories, including total goals, points, assists per game, points per game, and shutout percentage.
  • In addition to a great offense, the Mocs continue to build off strong goalkeeping. In the 7-0 win over Edward Waters, freshman Heidi Harris got the start and recorded her first collegiate shutout and three saves in the game. Staten earned her fourth shutout of the season in the 1-0 victory over the Lions and another win after a thrilling 3-2 score against PBA. One of the best in the conference, Staten has 27 saves on the season and has only allowed six goals all year for an impressive 0.818 save percentage.
  • Eckerd makes the trip to Lakeland after a 5-2 loss to Lynn on Saturday. Despite the tough record, the Tritons tied No. 2 Embry-Riddle 1-1 a couple of weeks ago and continue to keep teams close in many matches. Unable to stop the hat trick from Lynn by Anniina Sankoh, Eckerd did have two goals in the match, Andi Wells' first goal of the season and another goal by Kendall Drummond.
  • The Tritons have scored 12 goals this year and average 1.33 goals per game, compared to 1.78 for their opponents. Drummond leads the team in goals with three, with seven other scorers with at least one goal this year. In goal, the Tritons have used three different goalies, but primarily Zoe Brasher with the start, who averages 1.51 goals against and has 28 saves this year. Brasher has recorded two shutouts this season and has faced only 60 shots. A similar story for the Mocs on goalkeeping with fewer shots faced, the offensive prowess of the Mocs can pose a challenge to the Tritons.
  • HISTORY: The two teams are nearly even in their history, with Florida Southern the slight advantage with 15 wins to Eckerd's 13. The Tritons won the last matchup in a 2-0 win in St. Petersburg. The Mocs have fared well at home when playing the Tritons and they average 1.68 goals in their matchups against each other.

  • Florida Southern are back on the road for the first time since Sept 24 where the Mocs tied the ranked #6 Florida Tech in a 2-2 draw. Since then Southern are continuing their tying streak adding two more ties first against Embry-Riddle with a 3-3 tie and then over the weekend tying RV Palm Beach Atlantic 1-1. Against the Sailfish, the only Moc to score was Henri Tophoven who scored on a penalty kick to put FSC on the board early in the first half. Keeper AJ Pearce kept PBA scoreless until a foul gave the Sailfish a free kick that found the back of the net tying the game. The game remained tied till the end of regulation giving Florida Southern their fifth tie of the season.
  • On the field, the Mocs had to battle as three yellow cards were given along with a red during the first 60 minutes of play. Despite the outcome the PBA outshot FSC 14-to-5, while Pearce dominated in goal collecting six saves. Tophoven continues to dominate Southern offense tacking on his 10th and 11th goal over the week to remain in the top spot of the SSC, with the closest threat being four goals away at seven in the Mocs next opponent.
  • The Mocs are currently sitting ninth in the SSC remaining above the Saint Leo and Embry-Riddle who tied Southern over the weekend. The Mocs are one of two teams who still have not won a conference game having three ties in the conference, the last three meetings ending in a tie.
  • Eckerd is coming off a 2-1 loss falling to Lynn at home on Saturday night. The Only Triton to score was Fredrik Heise scoring his fourth goal of the year in the 36th minute of play. Eckerd allowed two goals, but also collected two saves.
  • Heise's goal was his fourth of the season. He has scored in four of the past five games. Shepherd recorded his fourth assist of the season. He has logged a point in each of the last six games.Shepherd's 18 points rank third in the SSC, Lynden Dawson, Frederik Klausen, and Tommy Lamb played the full 90 minutes.
  • Eckerd is sitting eighth in the conference just above FSC at ninth. The Tritons have two conference wins on the season one being against Saint Leo in the conference opener and and the second being a shutout against #8 Rollins. Eckerd has 22 goals on the season while their opponents have just 10 on the season. Sophomore Tommy Shepherd is leading the way for the Tritons with seven goals on the season followed by Frederik Kluasen with four. Lynden Dawson has tallied 27 saves on the season to lead in the net.
  • HISTORY: This is the 51st meeting between the two teams. The Tritons are on top with 30 wins however the last meeting Florida Southern took the win in a shutout fashion scoring eight goals on their home field.
