LAKELAND, Fla. – Florida Southern College softball head coach
Mo Triner has released a 50-game 2023 spring schedule. The Mocs will have 29 games at home, including the season opener, before traveling most of the first month of the spring season.
"We are very excited about our spring schedule. We have several top-notch teams coming to Lakeland to play us at home," said Triner. "We have 29 home games at Chris Bellotto Field."
FSC will open the season a little differently with a doubleheader on Chris Bellotto field against Ursuline College to open up the season in early February. Like last season, the Mocs will travel to compete in a tournament this year in Dahlonega, Ga. as they face King University and the University of North Georgia in the UNG Leadoff Classic on Feb. 11 and 12.
After the trip to Georgia, FSC will begin conference play with Barry on Feb. 17 and a doubleheader on Feb. 18 in Miami Shores. After back-to-back weekends on the road, the Mocs will host their first SSC game against Eckerd on Feb. 24 and 25 in Lakeland. This will be the start of a 16-game home stretch for the Mocs as they continue to host some northern teams during spring break. FSC will host Wilmington (Del.) on March 3, Southwest Minnesota State on March 4, and Lander on March 8 before jumping back into conference play against Florida Tech on March 10-11. FSC closes out its home stretch with back-to-back doubleheaders against Post on March 14 and Hillsdale on March 15.
The Mocs hit the road jumping into SSC play against Tampa on March 17-18, before hosting West Georgia on March 22.
The March schedule concludes with Saint Leo at home and Palm Beach Atlantic in West Palm Beach. Lynn will travel to Lakeland on April 7 to face FSC on Thursday and Friday, April 7-8, before the final non-conference game of the season at Flagler on April 11. SSC play continues with Nova Southeastern at home on April 14-15 with Senior Day set for April 15. The Mocs take on Embry-Riddle (April 21-22) and Rollins (April 28-29) on the road to conclude the 50-game regular season.
