DAHLONEGA, Ga. - Florida Southern Softball closed the 2022 Captain D's Surf 'n Turf Classic at Haines & Carolyn Hill Stadium at Lynn Cottrell Park with two devastating losses to No. 5 North Georgia.
FSC fell in the opener 10-2 before dropping the final game of the classic in six innings 8-0.

The Mocs and Nighthawks remained scoreless until the top of the third when North Georgia scored off a two-run homer. The Nighthawks continued to build off their lead until the Mocs scored in the bottom of the sixth off an RBI single from
Mariah Rodriguez to score
Frankie Raeckers.
Kiki Morris earned the RBI to score
Myah Moy to close out the inning as FSC put two runs on the board. However, the two runs from the Mocs were just a little too late as FSC fell in game one 10-2.
Florida Southern 0, #5 North Georgia 8
North Georgia didn't miss a beat from the first game against FSC, coming in, scoring four in the bottom of first.
A triple from the Nighthawks added another run to make it 5-0. Another triple scored three runs sealing the fate for FSC to end the game early with an 8-0 decision.
Florida Southern was led by pinch hitter M. Rodriguez going 2-for-2 with an RBI.
