LAKELAND, Fla. – Florida Southern women's golf, ranked 23
rd in the latest GolfStat rankings (2/15) and receiving votes in the latest Mizuno Women's Golf Coaches Association poll (11/19), sits tied for 5
th after the opening two rounds of the Lady Moc Classic at Grasslands Golf and Country Club Monday.
The Moccasins are tied for fifth at an even 600 (+24) after rounds of 299 and 301. FSC is tied with no. 3/4 Limestone and no. 16/18 Tampa after the first two rounds. Overall no. 1 Lynn, first in both the Mizuno and GolfStat poll, is leading the way at 584 (+8), two strokes over no. 9/3 Nova Southeastern.
Loren Perez is leading the Mocs at 147 (+3) following rounds of 77 and 70 on the par-72 6,100-yard course to sit tied for 10
th heading into Tuesday's final round.
Elizabeth Harding and
Lacey Tucker joined Perez inside the top-40 of the field in 26
th and 36
th place, respectively. Harding carded a two-round total of 150 (+6) while Tucker shot a 152 (+8).
Nathalie Svensson is sitting in 42
nd place at nine-over 153 as
Hanna Rizzolo is tied for 49
th at 10-over 154 to place all five in the lineup inside the top-50.
Perez's 70 was the low round for the Mocs on the day, which came in the second round of the home tournament. Harding and Tucker fired off the second low round of the day of 73, both in the first round.
