MIAMI LAKES, Fla. - No. 21 Florida Southern women's golf shot a 301 (+13) Tuesday to conclude play at the BarryU Women's Invitational on the par-72 6,020-yard Senator Course at Shula's Golf Club. The Moccasins finish at 907 (+43) as a team for the 54-hole event.Â
Loren Perez put up a fight over the final 18 and even shared the lead on the final day of the tournament. Perez, a senior from Bartow, Fla., finished the tournament in third place after carding an even-par 72 to finish at three-over 219.Â
Lacey Tucker hung in for a top-15 finish at 226 (+10) while
Nathalie Svensson finished in the top-25 with a 230 (+14) score. Tucker carded a final round 75 while Svensson carded a 76.Â
No. 15 the University of Tampa took home the team title at 886 (+22) while Emilie Bjorge won the medalist honors at one-under 215.
As a team, the Moccasins posted wins over no. 5 Barry and no. 8 Indianapolis, placing ahead of UIndy by two places, 11 strokes, and Barry three places, 36 strokes.Â
