LAKELAND, Fla. - The Florida Southern College softball team fell to Rollins College on Friday night with a 8-0 decision in Sunshine State Conference play.
The Mocs fall to 13-17 on the season and 2-11 in the SSC.
The Tars struck early and often, getting out to an early 6-0 lead after just two innings of play. First scoring on an RBI double, and Mocs error to make it 2-0 in the top of the first.
Rollins capitalized on the early lead scoring an additional four runs in the top of the second with a base clearing triple to deep right field. Florida Southern tried to get a run on the board after
Destiny Colgate and
Skyler Ralstin had back-to-back walks in the bottom of the second. However, Ralstin was stranded in scoring position as FSC could not bring a runner across home plate.
The Tars scored two more in the top of the fourth to make it 8-0 and finish the game in five innings of play.
