ORMOND BEACH, Fla. – No. 21 Florida Southern Women's Golf is tied for third after the opening round of the 2022 Sunshine State Conference Women's Golf Championship hosted by Embry-Riddle at Plantation Bay Golf and Country Club. The Moccasins shot a 302 (+18) on the par-71, 5,945-yard course Sunday.
Loren Perez is leading the Mocs after the first 18, carding a two-over 73 with 16 pars.
Nathalie Svensson, Lacey Tucker, Hanna Rizzolo, and
Elizabeth Harding joined Perez in the lineup for the Mocs at the championship.
Svensson, who drained a team-best three birdies, is tied for 11
th at three-over 74 while adding 10 pars to her day. Tucker is sitting tied for 17
th at five-over, 76, while Rizzolo is tied for 32
nd, 79 (+8), and Harding is tied for 40
th, 82 (+11). Rizzolo tallied two birdies on opening day while Tucker and Harding each notched one.
Barry's Alice Gotbring and Embry-Riddles' Mackenzie Dieter are tied atop the player leaderboard after shooting even-par 71's while the No. 5 Buccaneers are in the lead at 293 (+9).
