FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Florida Southern softball rounded out the 2022 season with a doubleheader against Sunshine State Conference opponent RV Nova Southeastern. The Mocs dropped the first game 4-0, and fought hard in the second but lost 3-2 in walk-off fashion.
Myah Moy had three hits and an RBI across both games, and
Delaney Asbury added a hit and an RBI in the second.

The Sharks struck first with a run in the bottom of the first inning. The Mocs tried to answer in the second as
Destiny Colgate hit a deep ball to get to second base. After the double from Colgate,
Maddi Conner put down a solid bunt to advance Colgate to third. Then,
Victoria Rodriguez put down a nice bunt of her own which got her to first and Conner to second. Unfortunately, the Mocs were unable to convert on loaded bases to get a run on the board.
Nova Southeastern had a huge third inning that included five hits and three runs.
The Mocs tried to rally in the top of the sixth with a big hit from Moy, but unfortunately fell 4-0 to the Sharks.

Florida Southern came out with a vengeance in their second game of the day.
Jadin Dewith started things off as she knocked a ball deep into the right-field for a double.
Kelsey Peck walked on the next at-bat. With two runners on, Moy snuck a ball right between the shortstop and second baseman which allowed Dewith to score.
In the second inning,
Skyler Ralstin kept the momentum going with a big double to right-center, but unfortunately, the Mocs were unable to score in the second.
To open the third inning, Moy slapped a ball into the left-center for a double. Colgate stepped up to the plate next and hit a deep single that allowed Moy to advance to third. Asbury was up next and singled to the second base allowing Moy to run home and score the second run of the game for the Mocs.
The Sharks answered in the fifth with three hits and a run of their own to make it 2-1. Then in the seventh, the Sharks added two more to win the game on a walk-off to take the sweep, 3-2.
