Women's Lacrosse Welcomes Embree as Assistant Coach

LAKELAND, Fla. – Florida Southern College women's lacrosse welcomes Brittney Embree as an assistant coach, announced Thursday, July 14 by 12th-year head coach, Kara Reber. Fresh off the program's sixth NCAA Tournament run, the Moccasins add a familiar face to the Sunshine State Conference to the coaching staff for the 2022-23 campaign.
 
Brittney Embree, a 2019 graduate of Florida Institute of Technology, played lacrosse for the Panthers for four years, 2015-19. Embree was a two-time All-Sunshine State Conference (SSC) selection and was named to the SSC All-Tournament team in her senior season. She played on the 2017 and 2018 NCAA regional teams for the Panthers.

"We are excited to have Brittney join our coaching staff," two-time SSC Coach of the Year, Kara Reber stated. "She brings a familiar face to the conference, having played four years at Florida Tech. She knows the level of play in our conference and understands our team goals. We were fortunate to find someone with the passion and competitiveness to compliment our staff and keep our program moving forward towards another National Championship."
 
A native of Orlando, Fla., Embree earned her master's degree in Sports Management in 2021 from Mount St. Mary's University and currently serves as an Assistant Lacrosse Manager with Corrigan Sports Enterprises. Upon graduation from Florida Tech, Embree was an assistant coach for the Panthers from 2019-20 before joining the staff at Hood College, 2020-21.
 
She played in 66 total games for the Panthers at defense and had four career goals to her credit. She concluded her career with 114 ground balls and 101 caused turnovers while committing just 63 turnovers.
 
The Mocs return to campus this fall and ready for the 2023 campaign which starts in late February.
