  • Florida Southern takes its first road trip of the season after a successful opening weekend against two non-conference opponents. The Mocs ended with two draws last week against Georgia College and Newberry College, despite great opportunities to score. Against the Bobcats, Florida Southern had 17 shots to the opponent's one, with a similar story against the Wolves. • While looking for the first win of the season, the Mocs dominate the attacking front allowing only one shot on goal through two games. Pressuring their opponent's ability to defend, opportunities continue to flow for Florida Southern with many new faces stepping up on the pitch. Newcomer Angelina Coelho leads the team with eight shots, with Lindsey Meyer right behind with six. Freshmen Malia Brost and Morgan Elliott each have four shots, with Meyer boasting a team-best three shots on goal.
  • Although many newcomers for the Mocs, the team continues to be led by returners such as Albrecht, Brooke and Caitlyn Lowery, Thomassy, and Courtney Chomko. Starting goalie for the Mocs their first two games is Meghan Kriney, a slight change from her position as a forward last year. FSC had eight substitutions in their last game as head coach Paul Lawrence continues to test the roster in these non-conference matchups.
  • Spring Hill, a familiar team to FSC's new assistant Emily Marcouiller, will host the Mocs for their second game of the season, as their season opener was pushed back with a canceled matchup against Albany State. Last time out, the Badgers lost 3-1 against Thomas last Sunday, after a late attacking surge fell short. Spring Hill had five shots on goal in the second half, one that found the back of the net, but not enough as the Thomas Night Hawks took the win. Haven Nail came off the bench to score the goal for the Badgers as Hanna Einardottir had two shots on goal that the Night Hawks managed to save.
  • West Florida, registering votes in the preseason United Soccer Coaches poll, play the Mocs after a 2-0 win against SSC opponent Barry last week, and a tie against Queens. The Argos will play Eckerd this Friday before the Sunday bout with the Mocs. Leading West Florida is Julia Comin and Alyssa Wilson, who each have a goal in the win over Barry. • HISTORY: The Mocs have faced the Spring Hill Badgers four times in program history, with two wins, one loss, and one tie. Last time these two met, the Mocs won 4-0 last year as part of a Bobcat Kickoff Classic. Florida Southern is more familiar with their West Florida opponent, having competed in 16 games (2-13-1).
