LAKELAND, Fla. – The Florida Southern College volleyball team opened its final home weekend of the season Friday night as the Moccasins took down the visiting Panthers of Florida Tech, 3-1. Senior
Mackenzie Petermann had a match-high 21 kills while also leading the team in digs with 17 to lead FSC to victory.

The win marks the third-straight for FSC as the Mocs improved to 17-9 on the season while pushing their Sunshine State Conference mark to 10-7. The Panthers fell to 9-18 overall and 3-14 in league play.

Petermann led a group of four Moccasins who reached double-digit kills while FSC held the Panthers to just one double-digit performer. Her double-double was the 30th of her career 14 of this season. Junior
Zoe Lowe went for double-digits for the third-straight match as she tallied 12 kills in the victory while also picking up three digs and a block assist. Graduate student
Elena Djokovic and junior
Madison Fowler each finished with 10 kills in the victory. Djokovic added 15 digs, six blocks and a service ace to her total. The double-double marked the ninth of the season for the graduate transfer and third-straight. Fowler chipped in a team-best seven blocks while also earning one dig.

Mary Kate Mulvaney led the team with 27 assists while securing eight digs and a service ace. Junior setter
Kiersten Kraus added 24 assists, 14 digs, six kills and a block. The double-double marked the 17
th of the season. Senior libero
Caroline Chambers led the team with four service aces while also digging up 11 balls and dishing out five assists.

Neither team was able to get the offense rolling Friday night as they each hit under .200 for the match. FSC came in at .183 while the Panthers hit 20 points below at .163. FT edged FSC in blocks 9-8 and also out-dug the hosts 82-71.

The Panthers looked to spoil the Mocs final home weekend as they came out and took an opening set victory 25-19. The Mocs responded with three-straight victories of their own taking the second set 25-22, the third set 25-19 and the deciding fourth set 25-21.

Florida Southern will be back in action tomorrow afternoon at 4 p.m. as the Mocs host their final home match of the season versus Rollins College. The Mocs will honor their four graduating seniors prior to the match as

Elena Djokovic,
Emily Crescenzi and
Jana Gilic will take part in a pre-match ceremony.
