LAKELAND, Fla. - Florida Southern College beach volleyball second-year head coach Makena Wilson '20 has released the schedule for the upcoming 2024 season. The Sunshine State Conference also announced earlier today the addition of beach volleyball as a conference sport and the Moccasins will face five SSC opponents. 
 
"This spring we have a very competitive schedule, "stated Wilson. "We are competing this year from early February to the end of April. Throughout the year we are playing our conference teams, Barry University, Eckerd College, Palm Beach Atlantic, Saint Leo University, and Tampa University. Those teams are always tough opponents and great competition."
 
The season will open with a tri-match on the Judy and Joe P. Ruthven Beach Volleyball Courts, where the Mocs will host Warner and Lake Sumter on Feb. 10. FSC will hit the road for the first time this season traveling to Lake Worth for a dual against Palm Beach State (Feb. 17) before returning home to start Sunshine State Conference action with Barry (Feb. 24) and St. Johns River for a non-conference match.
 
During spring break, FSC is heading up to Berry College in Georgia to compete against five teams in all different divisions. On March 8 the Sandy Mocs open the Berry Beach Kickoff with a dual against NAIA Truett-McConnell at 10 a.m. and later against DII Catawba at 2 p.m. Florida Southern concludes the kickoff with host Berry at 10 a.m. on March 9 and conclude the tournament with NJCAA opponent Gaston at 2 p.m.
 
FSC returns to Florida and heads to Eckerd for a tri-match against the Tritons on March 12 before going to Palatka for a duel against St. Johns River and Erskine on March 15.  The Sandy Mocs compete on the Ruthven Beach Courts for the final tri-match at home against Stevenson and Palm Beach State on March 16.
 
Florida Southern hits the road again for four straight matches as they compete against Lake Sumter in a tri-match on March 18 and follow with an SSC tri-match against Saint Leo and Eckerd on March 20.
 
The Sandy Mocs go to Tampa for a two-day event on March 29-30 for the second consecutive year where the teams will be announced at a later time. April 6 FSC travels to West Palm Beach for a tri-match against PBA concluding the SSC action.
 
"We will then finish our season at the AVCA Small College Championship on April 12-14 which is always a great experience against other competitive division II teams," concludes Wilson. "We are excited for this upcoming season to work hard and compete!"
