Box Score MIAMI SHORES, Fla. - The Florida Southern College softball team traveled down south to open up Sunshine State Conference play and battled it out with Barry University but fell to the Buccaneers 2-0 in the first game of the three-game series.
With the loss, the Moccasins fall to 3-4 overall and 0-1 in the SSC.
It was a very quiet game for FSC only having two hits in 24 at-bats. The Bucs scored in the third inning on an RBI single to make it 1-0. They later made it 2-0 in the following inning by catching a steal that scored the runner at third base.
The two Mocs with hits were junior
Skyler Ralstin and freshman
Kenleigh Smith. Ralstin singled to shortstop in the first inning and Smith singled to the second baseman in the top of the fifth and was left stranded.
Junior
Ashley Blessin pitched a complete six innings of play allowing two runs on nine hits, while striking out two batters. Blessin now is 1-2 overall on the season.
