BOCA RATON, Fla. - Florida Southern College women's basketball fell to Lynn University 69-46 on Saturday afternoon on the road.
The Mocs are now 12-10 overall and 8-7 in conference play while the Fighting Knights move to 16-7 overall and 9-6 in the conference.
For the first several minutes of the game, the Mocs gave the Fighting Knights a good contest. Sophomore
Anna Denes kicked things off for the Mocs with a three-pointer to take the early lead. Then, with less than three minutes remaining in the quarter, freshman
Sydney Gomes stepped up and knocked down a three to tie things up, 10-10. Later, Lynn went on a big run in the final minutes of the frame and secured an 18-10 lead over the Mocs going into the second quarter.
An 8-0 run shifted the momentum of the game in the favor of the Fighting Knights in the second quarter as they outscored Florida Southern 19-9 despite the best efforts of the Mocs who shot just 4-16 in the quarter. The Fighting Knights held a 37-19 lead going into the locker room at the half.
The Mocs managed to turn things around a little bit in the second half with 17 points off the bench, but it was not enough to undo the damage from the first half.

Arielle Dabu was the leading scorer for the Mocs with 11 points in 28 minutes of play. Leading in rebounds was freshman
Amari Jackson coming down with six.

The Mocs look to bounce back at home this Wednesday, February 8 against Rollins College in the George W. Jenkins Field House. The tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 PM.
