TAMPA, Fla. - The Florida Southern College softball team fell 3-1 in the final game of the Sunshine State Conference series against No. 3 University of Tampa on Saturday afternoon.
The Moccasins move to 14-14 overall and 5-7 in the SSC, while the Spartans improve to 21-1 and 9-0 in the conference.

Tampa took an early 1-0 lead to open up scoring on an RBI single in the bottom of the first. FSC was able to tie the game on a throwing error allowing the Mocs to tie the game 1-1 after junior
Skyler Ralstin scored, reaching earlier on a single to right field.
With it tied,1-1 heading into the bottom of the third, Tampa hit a double to put them into scoring position. With a runner at second and another on first after reaching on a walk, the Spartans hit a 2-run RBI double giving them a 3-1 lead.
The Mocs had another hit in the top of the fifth from junior
Kiki Morris to try to cut the Spartan's lead, but Morris was left stranded at first. FSC finished the game going down in order in the following innings, falling in the final game of the series 3-1.
Ralstin led the way going 2-for-3 from the plate. In the circle, sophomore
Kayla Hickey collected her first loss pitching six innings and striking out one batter.

Florida Southern returns to Chris Bellotto Field on Wednesday, March 22 for a non-conference doubleheader against West Georgia. The first pitch is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
