UWG came out of the gates swinging, scoring two runs in the top of the first to get an early 1-0 lead. Florida Southern was quick to respond, as junior
Taylor Thomas hit a 2-run RBI single scoring juniors
Kiki Morris and Ralstin after both singled to get runners on.
With the Mocs and Wolves tied 2-2 going into the second inning, FSC shut the Wolves down for the rest of the game scoring four runs in the second inning. Morris picked up her second hit of the day with a single down the left-field line. Morris moved around the bases once again, getting into scoring position for an RBI single by Ralstin to take a 3-2 lead. Thomas singled for an RBI to freshman
Kenleigh Smith to give the Mocs a 4-2 advantage.
Ralstin scored from a wild pitch to increase the Mocs lead to 5-2. The bats stayed alive for FSC as they tagged on one more insurance run with an RBI single from Sophomore
Destiny Colgate to finish two complete innings with a 6-2 lead.
Florida Southern put up three more runs in the bottom of the fourth with an RBI double from Thomas and Colgate RBI single, and an RBI single up the middle from sophomore
Macayla Brady to increase the Mocs lead to 9-2
The Mocs kept the Wolves from scoring the remainder of the game, going into the fifth inning where one run would call the game, and FSC was able to do just that as graduate student
Maddi Conner singled up the middle to finish the game in run-rule fashion with a 10-2 final in five innings.
Several Mocs finished with three hits in game one as Morris, Smith, Ralstin, Thomas, and Colgate all had three followed by Conner with two. Thomas brought in four runners, followed by Colgate with two RBIs and Ralstin, Conner, and Brady all with one.
In the circle, junior
Ashley Blessin allowed just one earned run on four hits pitching a complete game and striking out two.
FLORIDA SOUTHERN 6, WEST GEORGIA 5
Game two started the same as game one as both teams scored early in the first inning. The Wolves scored just one run as the Mocs tied it up 1-1 with a leadoff double down the left field line from senior
Kelsey Peck. Peck moved around the bases and scored on an RBI single from Ralstin to make a tied ball game.
The Mocs scored four three runs in the bottom of the fourth to take a 4-1 lead with bases loaded RBI single to right-center field as senior
Leanna Kelly batted in three runners. An insurance run was scored from another Ralstin RBI hit, scoring Peck on a double to left center field to make it 5-1.
The game looked to belong to Florida Southern until the bats came to life giving West Georgia momentum to tie the game at 5-all and force the Mocs to another half-inning. That was all it took as FSC scored on a walk-off single from Ralstin to conclude game two 6-5.
Ralstin went 4-for-4 from the plate with three RBIs, followed by Peck going 2-for-3 with three runs, a double, and a stolen base.
In the circle, junior
