  • Florida Southern will continue their road games with a series in Fort Lauderdale after a winning series against Lynn University last week. The Mocs lost the first game with a 5-1 score, only tallying one solo homer for a run but FSC rallied to win 8-5 in game two and 3-2 in game three for the series win. Drew Cavanaugh had the solo shot in game one and Connor Berry had two home runs in game two to help send the Mocs for an 8-5 win. Mocs won game three 3-2 with two runs in the ninth by a Jeff Liquori triple and Rohsean Riley RBI single. The win snapped The Mocs' 26-straight games with a homer with none in the series finale.
  • The Mocs have improved to a .323 batting average, tied for third in the conference. Bryce Safferwich leads the team with a .410 average and Cavanaugh's homer in game one brought his total to 11, second in the conference. Both Safferwich and Cavanaugh are among the leaders in the SSC in several categories including slugging percentage, OPS, total hits, and RBI. Despite no homers in game three, FSC is fifth in the nation for home runs per game (1.82) and eighth in total homers (62). Leading the league in home runs, the closest team behind the Mocs is Barry with 45. In all, Mocs have six batters above .300, not including Ryan Magdic with a .311 average in his 12 starts of late.
  • On the mound, the Mocs open with starter Nathan Madej with a 3.20 ERA and 72 batters struckout this season. Madej leads the team with six wins with Aric McAtee and Jordan Fox with four wins each. Collin Camarigg continues to shine with a league-high six saves this season and a 2.70 ERA. Relievers Justin Wit and Kerry Wright also have a great record, both undefeated in their appearances and below 2.00 ERA.
  • Nova Southeastern will host Florida Southern after winning the series against Embry-Riddle last week. The Sharks lost game one 12-5 after a monster seven-run inning by the Eagles but it was all NSU on Friday with a doubleheader sweep to win the series. Nova had three homers and four doubles in the 10-3 DH game one win over ERAU and followed up with a 4-2 win in game two. The Sharks were down 2-0 into the top of the ninth, but four hits and two errors led to four runs for the late rally and win.
  • The Sharks are led by Duncan Pastore, batting .390 on the season, and Daniel Irisarri with a .308 average. NSU has five homers by Adam Smith to lead the team with a team total of 20 homers and a team .280 batting average. Nova Southeastern is 51-61 for stolen bases and attempts this season and has a 0.957 fielding percentage. On the mound, the Sharks are led by Carlos Rey with a 3.24 ERA and Cooper Omans with a 3.58. Frank Elissalt is the final presumed starter with a 4.50 ERA in his nine starts. As a team, Sharks have a 5.06 ERA.
  • HISTORY: The Mocs have a 47-38 overall advantage over the Sharks in their history. Last time out, the Mocs won 5-2 in the series finale but ultimately lost the series 2-1 after dropping the first two games. The losing series was the regular season finale for the Mocs and potentially cost the Mocs an NCAA regional bid.
