DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Florida Southern College softball team captured a 4-1 win against Embry-Riddle on Friday evening to open the Sunshine State Conference series.
With the win, the Moccasins improved to 23-22 overall and 10-15 in the SSC. The Eagles fall to 23-19 on the year and 10-12 in conference action.
FSC had to work their way back as Embry-Riddle scored in the fourth on an RBI double to take a 1-0 lead. The Mocs tied the game at 1-1 in the top of the sixth when junior

In the final inning, Florida Southern rallied to take a 2-1 lead, scoring junior
Skyler Ralstin. Senior
Kelsey Peck hit her 10th home run, increasing the Mocs score to 4-1 and defeating the Eagles in game one of the three-game series.
Ralstin led the way going, 3-for-4 and one run scored. In the circle, junior
Mel Rogers pitched a complete game with three strikeouts to improve to 10-3 on the year.

Florida Southern returns to action tomorrow afternoon with a doubleheader against the Eagles to close out the SSC series. The first pitch is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
