TAVARES, Fla. - The Florida Southern beach volleyball team entered into day two of the Small College Beach Championships with a morning match-up against Catawba College at Hickory Point Beach in Tavares, Fla before moving on to the challenge round to face off against McKendree University.

The Moccasins (22-10) are the 10th seed in the B Pool, ranking third out of the four teams in their pool. Saturday morning, Florida Southern faced off against Catawba College (9-17), seeded 15th in the tournament. The Mocs emerged triumphant, beating Catawba 3-0 with two empty courts. Then, in the afternoon, Florida Southern locked horns with McKendree University (3-15) to determine whether they'd play the bronze bracket or the copper. FSC dominated against McKendree winning in straight sets 3-0.Â

Duo
Ashli McKenny and
Emma Winford played a tough first set before sweeping through the second set for a 22-20, 21-8 win over Catawbas duo Savanna Corrales and Hayes Smith. No. 4 pair
Christina Ramazio and
Sydney Melcher dominated the court with a 21-8, 21-12 victory against the Indians' Brooklyn Calkins and JJ Quarrels. Lastly, we saw the No.5 court Sandy Mocs duo of
Jackie Schner and
Hailey Carefoot take the win against Lauren Shepherd and Claire Vinskus 21-11, 21-10.

In the second game, we see duo
Sarah Crocker and
Reagan Carlton on the No.2 court take a 21-15, 21-16 win over their McKendree opponents. Pair Ramazio and Melcher returned for the second game on the No.4 court, taking a 21-12, 21-18 court win. All eyes were on flight six, where Schner and Carefoot claimed a 21-17, 21-12 win over their Bearcat opponents.
In the pair challenge,
Chloe Maxwell and
Madeline Sanders joined together winning the first match of the day against Catawba 21-14, 21-12. In game two against the Lions of Satin Leo the duo fell 21-9, 21-17.Â

The Sandy Mocs return Sunday to compete in the bronze bracket, the opponent and start time will be announced at a later time.
