LAKELAND, Fla. – The 15
th-ranked Florida Southern College men's cross country hosted the Ed Holloway Classic Friday night at Holloway Park in Lakeland, Fla. The Moccasins took second overall in a 15-team field that featured five NCAA Division I programs as well as four Sunshine State Conference teams.

Sophomore
Andrew Nyland led the way for FSC Friday night as he placed third overall on the 8K course as he completed the distance in 25:41. He was the top finishing NCAA Division II student-athlete as runners from Florida Gulf Coast and Florida International took first and second, respectively. Freshman
Parker Graham came in just three spots later in sixth as he clocked in at 25:54. The next five Moccasins finished between 10
th and 15
th as they all battled to be part of the scoring five. Junior
Declan Ziomek led the group as he placed 10
th overall after stopping the clock at 26:24. Freshman
Skyler Jensen finished just behind in 11
th while crossing the line three seconds later at 26:27. The final scoring spot was a battle between sophomore
Daniel Welling, freshman
Jack Girard and junior
Connor Brooks. Welling secured the fifth and final scoring spot as he placed 12
th overall while finishing two seconds ahead of Girard with a time of 26:28. Girard crossed the line in 26:30 to place 13
th while Brooks finished 11 seconds later in 15
th at 26:41.

Trevor Cross was the final Moccasin in the top-20 as he placed 19
th after finishing the course in 27:05. Five additional Mocs were in action including senior

th/27:31), freshman
Denny Olsen (28
th/27:35), junior
Dillon Mantei (34
th/27:53), sophomore
Joshua White (35
th/27:56), and
Zack Gunderson (58
th/30:34).

The Moccasins will now begin their final preparations for the 2025 Sunshine State Conference Championship which will be hosted at Holloway Park in Lakeland, Fla. The Championship is set for Saturday, Oct. 25. Â
