NEW ORLEANS – The Florida Southern College men's cross country team along with a program record seven individuals were recognized for their success in the classroom as the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) selected 112 NCAA Division II men's teams for their 2025 All-Academic Team honors while 318 individuals were honored as USTFCCCA All-Academic Athletes.

Christian Giller and
Anthony Matthew and first-time recipients senior
Simon DeVoss, sophomore
Andrew Nyland, junior
Cole Summers and sophomore
Eli Zuppa.
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, student athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-30 percent of their respective regional championship meet, among other qualifiers.
The Florida Southern men posted a 3.59 GPA, ranking among the top-20 team GPAs in the country. FSC was one of just six programs from the state of Florida to receive the honor including Embry-Riddle (3.45 GPA), Flagler (3.19 GPA), Palm Beach Atlantic (3.15 GPA), Tampa (3.20 GPA) and West Florida (3.27 GPA).
Wingate was named the 2025 NCAA DII Men's Cross Country National Scholar Team of the Year. The Bulldogs maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.21 during a season in which they won the team title at the NCAA DII Cross Country Championships in Kenosha, Wisconsin. This is the second time in the past three years that Wingate has been named National Scholar Team of the Year.
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period and compile a team score at their respective regional championship meet, among other qualifiers.
Adrian Legarreta of West Texas A&M was named the 2025 NCAA DII Men's Cross Country National Scholar Athlete of the Year. Legarreta maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.34 during a season in which he finished third at the NCAA DII Cross Country Championships in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
Colavita, DeVoss, Giller, Matthew, Nyland, Summers and Zuppa led the Mocs to a second-place finish at the NCAA Division II South Region Championship. The Mocs went on to compete at the NCAA National Championship where they placed 19
th overall.
