LAKELAND, Fla. – The Florida Southern College women's cross country team finished fourth at the Ed Holloway Classic at Holloway Park Friday night.
The Moccasins had a great showing with several personal bests among a lineup of NCAA Division I, II, and Junior College competition.
Kara Simard led the Mocs with a 14th-place finish with a time of 23:47, setting a new personal best in the 6k.
Sindy Moncada also finished in the top 20 with a 19th-place finish with a time of 24:23.
Kira Casane (25:10) and
Hope Schoenwetter (24:13) finished back-to-back with 27
th and 28
th place finishes, followed by
Addison Sharp in 33
rd with a time of 25:50.
Mackenzie Toms rounded out the FSC lineup in the top 50 finishers, finishing 48
th with a time of 27:31.
The Mocs will have a quick turnaround with the Sunshine State Conference Championship next Saturday, Oct. 25, also at Holloway Park, with an 8:15 a.m. start time.
