LAKELAND, Fla. – The Florida Southern College women's cross country team took on the familiar home course at Holloway Park Saturday morning for the 2025 NCAA South Region Championship. The Moccasins battled throughout the morning as they placed ninth as a team despite tying Embry-Riddle with 253 points. The Eagles won the tiebreaker to claim eighth overall.
Junior
Grace Reed earned her first career All-South Region honors with an 18
th-place finish overall after completing the 6K course in 22:14.0, ninth-best time in program history at an NCAA Region Championship. Classmate
Emma Pfeiffer was next across the line for the Mocs as she placed 50
th while stopping the clock at 23:22.8. Sophomores
Nika Gividen and
Heloise Pinto finished back-to-back in 58
th and 59
th, respectively. Gividen crossed the line in 23:36.7 while Pinto was right behind at 23:37.1.
The final scorer for the Moccasins was a tight race between freshman
Reagan Chambless and senior
Rachel Hockenberry as they sandwiched a runner from Trevecca Nazarene. Chambless picked up a 72
nd place finish at 24:10.9 while Hockenberry took 74
th at 24:13.6. The final FSC runner on the course was senior
Caitlin Beery who placed 85
th overall after completing the 6K in 24:44.5.
Palm Beach Atlantic took home the team title Saturday as senior Lauren Wallace of Mississippi College won the individual crown. The Sailfish tallied 76 points to finish just ahead of Lee (77 pts.). Fellow Sunshine State Conference team Tampa rounded out the top-three with 87 points.
