Grace Reed led the way for the Moccasins as she took 15
th overall in the 6K race while clocking in at 22:11.9.
Senior
Rachel Hockenberry was the next Moccasin to cross the line as she placed 27
th overall, just ahead of teammate freshman
Reagan Chambless who took 29
th. Hockenberry clocked in at 23:04.7 while Chambless crossed the line in 23:07.5. The final two scorers for FSC were sophomores
Heloise Pinto and
Nika Gividen. Pinto completed the course in 23:27.5 while Gividen stopped the clock at 23:33.8.
Junior
Emma Pfeiffer and sophomore
Alena Pezzoli just missed out on the scoring five as they finished back-to-back in 40
th and 41
st. Pfeiffer just edged Pezzoli at 23:37.3 while the sophomore crossed the line in 23:44.1.
The Mocs had eight more competitors who finished between 51
st and 94
th.
Jillian Thorning of Nova Southeastern took home the individual championship while Tampa captured the team championship. The Spartans tallied 39 total points to finish ahead of Palm Beach Atlantic (41 pts.) by just two points. Nova Southeastern claimed third at 57 points while Embry-Riddle placed fourth with 101 points. The Mocs were next in fifth with 131 points.
The Florida Southern women's cross country team will now turn its attention to the 2025 NCAA South Region Championship which will be held Saturday, Nov. 8 in Lakeland, Fla. at Holloway Park.
