LAKELAND, Fla. – The Florida Southern College women's cross country team earned its second team win of the season, marking the first time since 2018 that the Mocs have won two regular season races. The Moccasins topped the six-team field with 32 points, finishing ahead of Sunshine State Conference foes Nova Southeastern (67 pts.), Lynn (78 pts.), Palm Beach Atlantic (85 pts.) and Eckerd (123 pts.).

Freshman
Reagan Chambless led the way Friday morning as she took third overall and was the top finishing freshman at the event. Chambless completed the 6K course in 23:45.37 to lead the way. Three additional Mocs finished in the top-10 including sophomore
Heloise Pinto and freshmen
Kara Simard and
Jane Haight. Pinto led the trio in fifth at 24:04.81 while Simard (24:24.70) crossed the line in sixth followed by Haight (24:33.96) in seventh. The final member of the scoring five just missed out on a top-10 finish as freshman
Sindy Moncada placed 11
th after completing the course in 25:08.49.

Kira Casane were the next two Mocs to finish. Schoenwetter took 14
th followed by Casane in 16
th. Schoenwetter turned in a time of 25:17.35 while Casane stopped the clock at 25:27.61.

The final three for FSC were freshmen
Addison Sharp,
Mia Bartram and
Mackenzie Toms. Sharp placed 22
nd while crossing the line in 26:07.10 while Bartram came in two spots later in 24
th with a time of 26:18.53. Toms picked up a 33
rd-place finish with a time of 27:09.55.

The Moccasins will next be in action Saturday, Oct. 11 at the Lewis Crossover in Romeoville, Ill.
