LAKELAND, Fla. — The Florida Southern College women's tennis team turned in a strong showing at the 2025 FSC Fall Scramble this weekend, hosting competitors from Saint Leo, Hillsborough Community College, and Eckerd in a two-day event filled with competitive matchups across singles and doubles play.
The Moccasins showed depth and consistency across both days, combining for several doubles victories and a series of impressive singles wins to cap off their fall season.
Florida Southern opened the weekend with five doubles wins, including standout performances from
Annika Berrendorf and
Jolie Miller, who earned a 6–4 victory over Saint Leo, and
Elin Axler and
Kennedi Brown, who dominated their match 6–0. The team of
Elona Simonov and
Realtin Stara also came out on top in a tight 7–6 (5) battle.
In singles, the Mocs showcased their depth, highlighted by victories from
Josie Holderbach,
Ronja Scheuermann, Axler, Brown,
Elena Samuelsson, Stara, and Simonov,
Emily Jennewein, Miller, each earning straight-set wins. The depth of the lineup was on full display as Florida Southern players picked up a total of 14 singles victories on opening day.
The Mocs carried their momentum into day two with a commanding performance in doubles, winning eight of 10 matches. Pairs Holderbach/Scheuermann, Axler/Brown, Brown/Simonov, Samuelsson/Miller Berrendorf/Stara, Berrendorf/Jennewein, and Miller/Simonov all earned decisive 6–0 or 6–1 victories to set the tone for the day.
In singles play, Florida Southern continued to roll behind Holderbach, who defeated Saint Leo's Ozel 6–4, 6–3, and Axler, who took down Warchausky 6–2, 6–1. Additional wins from Berrendorf, Miller, and Simonov capped off a strong final day for the Mocs.
